St. Thomas Orthodox Cathedral, Dubai

The Cathedral has in its fold about 2776 members and about 2500 members attend the service regularly. Holy Qurbana is celebrated 4 times in a week twice on all Fridays (Morning and evening), once each on Sunday evening and Tuesday morning. Holy Qurbana in English is conducted on every 2nd Friday of the month in the morning additionally. Intercessory Prayer to St. Mary is held on all Wednesday evenings and prayer meetings are conducted on Thursday evenings in the Church in addition to more than 13 monthly area prayer meetings, convened in various areas of Dubai and northern emirates.

The Sunday school has reached student strength of 1850 with more than 90 teachers, attaining the position of the largest Sunday school in Malankara. Youth Movement (180 members), Marth Mariam Samajam (80 members), MGOCSM (40 members) Divyabodhanam (10 members) and Diaspora (98 members) meet regularly and indulge in various activities. ‘JESUS KIDZ DUBAI’, ‘EPHETHA’ and ‘MENORA’ are the in-house magazines published by Sunday school, Youth Movement and MGOCSM on a quarterly/bi-annually basis. ‘Theshbuhatho’, a competition in liturgical songs for the parishes in UAE instituted by The Youth movement unit and Bible Quiz conducted based on lent lectionary by MGOCSM unit, both in memory of L.L. Job Mar Philoxenos Metropolitan, recorded huge success. Pre-Marital Counseling classes on the first Saturday of every month are attended by around 15 aspirants. Youth parish meet, OVBS and summer camps for children under the leadership of its Sunday School and regular classes for learning Malayalam for children born and bought up in UAE are conducted. The Cathedral is actively involved in various ecumenical and inter-religious activities. Meetings of Senior Forum for senior members of the church, and a Medical Forum for all the members working in medical field are conducted every month.
